Job Description

The Associate Dean, Student Experience at Trinity College is a dynamic role dedicated to supporting the daily lives and activities of our students within the Residential College. Reporting directly to the Deputy Dean of the Residential College, you will lead and guide a team of Resident Advisors in implementing a distributed pastoral model that effectively fosters a sense of belonging and harmonious living in the Trinity community. This role plays a pivotal part in overseeing student events, cultivating a vibrant culture of student leadership, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure a positive and secure living environment for our resident students.

The successful candidate is required to reside on campus in Parkville, becoming a highly visible and influential figure within the Trinity community. Your active involvement and leadership are essential in maintaining a harmonious and positive atmosphere, even during after-hours situations.

Requirements

Skills & Experience:

  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team effectively.

  • Strong background in student services and residential life.

  • Exceptional communication and conflict resolution abilities.

  • Proficiency in planning and executing student events with attention to logistics and budgeting.

  • Experience in nurturing student leadership culture and growth.

  • Strong organizational skills, including overseeing operations and financial processes.

  • Ability to handle sensitive situations, resolving wellbeing and conduct issues proactively.

  • Dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive community.

  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours and reside on campus when needed.

  • Understanding of higher education, student development, and the role of residential colleges.

  • Event Attendance: On a rostered basis, attend student events to ensure they are executed safely and provide support to the RA team on duty.

This is a full-time, ongoing position where the successful incumbent will live on the Trinity College campus and will require flexible working arrangements acknowledged through the remuneration of this position.
